Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra is from a small village Chandumajra of Patiala district and he got the Political, Social and religious knowledge from his family. His father Sardar Jaswant Singh known as an Akali, was Sarpanch since very long time. Therefore, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra was first three year. He was as a President of Patel Memorial College, Rajpura, Punjabi University, Patiala and again by 73 Colleges under University.
When he completed his Master’s Degree in Economics in 1970, in those days Indira Gandhi imposed the Emergency in India. All the big leaders were inducted in to jail and as a student leader Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra was also put in the jail under MISA and spent jail 19 months. In the jail he met Senior Leaders like Shri Chander Shekhar, Sardar Prakash Singh Badal, Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra, Sardar Surjeet Singh Barnala and Jagat Narain. During jail he did his Master’s Degree in Political Science. As a leader the tacts of Politics. When he was released from the jail he worked as a Professor in Dera Bassi College and then worked as a Subject Expert in the Punjab School Education Board.
When Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra doing his service, as a Professor, he was harassed by the Police, he quit the Government service. Now he jumped in to full fledge politics. After the gap of little time he was appointed as a President of Youth Akali Dal. During the Dharm Yudh Morcha Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra educated the youth and a large number of 2 sikh youth appreciated his leadership and thousands of youth came forward in the support of Dharam Yudh Morcha. During Operation Blue Star he was inducted in jail for six months and again jailed for one year. During RajivLongowal accord in 1985 Prof Chandumajra won the Daqkala Halka seat and that time then Chief Minister Surjit singh Barnala made him Co-operation Minister of Punjab. During that period vanished Section 67 and thousands were given employment and Small Cooperative Societies were formed from big Cooperative Societies.
In 1985 Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra got the big department of Cooperation in a small age and he has given the employment to the 10,000 youth and with his continuous efforts the prizes of Fertilizer and DAP came down. He raised the voice against the false police cases against the youth of Punjab and stood like a rock in front of famous DGP of Punjab Police Mr Riberio and raised his voice against false hard core police.
After the collapse of Barnala Government, Punjab, was put under President Rule for long time. But, when the election of Lok Sabha was conducted Prof Chandumajra defeated the Congress Leader Sant Ram Singh (MP Seat) and again defeated Capt Amarinder Singh by a margin of 50,000 votes and won the Patiala MP seat. During this period Prof Chandumajra got the opportunity to lead the Delegation to the United Nations Organization. In 2014 wave were adverse he won the Anandpur Sahib Halka MP seat of National and State level. The bill was small got passed in Lok Sabha for the Sacrifice made by Small Sahibjadas of tenth Guru Gobind Singh Jee and Mata Gujri Kaur Jee. When the bomb was dropped by Bhagat Singh, B.K.Datt, Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra’s 25th MP in whole Parliament is selected for 3 Printing in the “Fame India”2017 Magazine for raising the voice in Parliament and is only MP in Punjab who was selected for maximum issues raised by him. Prof Chandumajra was honoured in Vigyan Bhawan by Cabinet Minister Dr Harshwardhan, State Minister Arjan Meghwal and Senior Congress Leader Janardhan Divedi and this is not the honour of only Chandumajra, this is the honour of all the people of Sri Anandpur Sahib Constituency. In 2018 in a survey Prof Chandumajra is selected by Fame India for the first five best MPs
Always raise voice in Parliament for discrimination with minoorities, against those resposible for 1984 Mass Murdering of Sikhs for putting behind bars for qualifies, brotherhood, made efforts to neutralize the casteism, for the upliftment of Farmer and give ideas to make farming profitable, got the approval of Formula for Farmers’ Crop i.e. M.S.P.s formula A2 + F.L., & C2 formula and got compensations from Centre and State Government. Also raises voice in Parliament and made aware to other M.P.s about the Role of Ten Masters of Sikhs, Bhagti Lehar in Sufi Lehar’s not considering the Sheikh Farid, made demand to induct the War and the Kingdom established by Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, Baba Bandha Singh Bahgadur, lMaharaja Ranjit Singh into the history again. On the issue of the Special Status given to Andhra Pradesh, he opposed and demand to Centre to declare Punjab as Border State in ‘A’ category Special Status again and again. Inspite of above International and National, Punjab and our constituency level, raises so many issues/problems.
